Cheap Drivers Ed is a private high school, operating under the California Education Code and is registered with the California Department of Education. We offer a quality distance learning program to accommodate the student and parent that would like to obtain the state required certification in a comprehensive course of instruction that addresses all the elements of drivers education, including the driving environment as well as the rules-of-the-road, and would like to work from the convenience of their home in an environment that allows the parent to oversee and interact with their newest driver. To be able to study this information in an environment that is more conducive to learning than a typical driving school course, or a high school course that ties up an entire semester or school year.
The difference between a quality Home Study course and a short course of study in a typical Drivers Ed program is this:
With a Home Study course, you get to Read, Absorb, Process and Retain the information contained in the course. In any typical short course of study, you will usually see two issues:

Learning by Rote: Taking and retaking a written test, until the student has subconsciously memorized the answers to the questions, without establishing the foundation of knowledge behind those questions and answers.

Participating in a social environment as opposed to an academic environment: The purpose of our course is to impart the knowledge of the Rules-of-the-Road. Not to create a social group to spend 4 days with.
Our course is designed to facilitate your learning process. You will have the opportunity to read the material relative to your course with access to assistance from your parents, as well as being able to contact us for any clarification you might require, in the privacy of your own home.
Our Certificates of Completion: DMV DL-387 forms are issued upon successful completion of our course. That coupled with a Certificate of Enrollment in Driver Training form: OL-392 from a local Driving School, will qualify you to take the written test at the DMV to obtain your Provisional Instruction Permit.
